Dump sapotas
|
March 2020
Sapota farmers dumped heaps of their unsold fruit on the roads after prices plummeted during the COVID-19 lockdown, leaving them unable to recover even harvesting costs. With transport restrictions and closed markets halting trade, the perishable fruits began to rot, forcing farmers to discard them publicly in protest. The growers demanded immediate government support to stabilize prices and compensate for their losses.
