Environmental activists conducted funeral rituals for a 40-year-old peepal tree that had been felled near the Ganapati Temple. They garlanded the remaining stump, applied kumkum and vermilion, and painted the words “Humans are responsible for my death” on the site, while announcing they would lodge a complaint with the National Green Tribunal.
