Farmers staged a march to protest the open-field trials of genetically modified corn at the Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University. Organized by the Bhartiya Kisan Union and allied groups, the protesters, many holding corn installations, raised concerns over seed monopolies, loss of indigenous varieties, and possible genetic contamination of traditional crops. Demonstrators demanded that the trials be halted and called for greater transparency and farmer participation in decisions affecting agricultural biodiversity.
