Angry farmers dumped heaps of paddy in front of the district collectorate to demand immediate government procurement of their crops. They alleged that despite repeated assurances, officials had failed to open purchase centres or fix prices, leaving their paddy to rot. The protest intensified when farmers briefly held government officials hostage, insisting on a fair and timely procurement process.
