Sell Sierra Club bumper stickers for $1
Arizona, US
|
November 2009
Hundreds of demonstrators gathered in southwestern Arizona to oppose border-wall construction on tribal and public lands, where Sierra Club volunteers sold bumper stickers and shared informational materials. Protesters raised concerns about threats to sacred cultural sites and to the desert ecosystem, including the Organ Pipe cactus that grows throughout the monument. Participants carried signs, listened to speakers and assembled near construction access roads to highlight the cultural, ecological and landscape damage associated with the ongoing wall work.
