Spray beetroot-juice blood across theTreasury

London, UK

October 2019

Extinction Rebellion activists used a decommissioned fire engine to spray beetroot-juice “blood” across the UK Treasury building in London, aiming the liquid at the façade to draw attention to government financing of fossil fuels. Much of the red spray landed on the pavement and nearby structures, and police later arrested several protesters. Images from the scene show the fire engine, participants in high-visibility clothing, and the bright red liquid spread across the street.
